Biography[]

Corrupt Life[]

Not much was known of Lieutenant Wahyu, except that he was a corrupt lieutenant officer within the Indonesian National Police who was in cahoots with other corrupt cops, including the deputy police commissioner Reza. He is also probably well known within the criminal underworld of Jakarta, as Tama Riyadi, a crime lord, had known him prior to the raid, and had been responsible for bribing cops such as him to turn a blind eye on their activities.

However, Reza and other corrupt police officials had seen him as a liability for presumably his ambition, or his unreliability to keep their corrupt secrets. Either way, cops including Reza wanted to get rid of Wahyu. Lieutenant Wahyu was too ambitious that he made a decision to capture or kill Tama Riyadi, in order to gain publicity and rise up among the ranks. His ambitions led him to start a raid led by a squad of 20 men on Tama's apartment block without any reinforcements. Unbeknownst to Wahyu, Reza had tipped off Tama regarding the operation, which allowed the latter to gain the upper hand against Wahyu's squad.

The Raid: Redemption []

Wahyu was a police lieutenant of Jakarta who appeared to be assisting Police Sergeant Jaka and his 20-man squad in detaining the nefarious crime lord Tama Riyadi. After the 20-man squad entered Tama's apartment block, they encountered children who were startled by the team. Wahyu shoots the children dead, but they were able to summon back-up and alert Tama. Soon after, inhabitants of the apartment block and Tama's gang start to attack the team fiercely, killing most of the 20-man squad, leaving only Rama, Jaka, Bowo, Dagu and Wahyu left to complete the mission and escape the building. While Rama treats his fellow colleague Bowo who was critically injured, Wahyu went together with Dagu and dispersed in another direction to find Tama.

Rama, Wahyu, Jaka, Bowo and Dagu are left alive to complete the mission and escape the building. Rama treats his fellow officer Bowo, who is critically injured, and takes him in to Gofar's apartment. Jaka, Wahyu and Dagu disperse in another direction to find Tama. Jaka commands Dagu to protect Wahyu at all costs, before being left behind to confront Mad Dog, leading to Jaka's death. Wahyu and Dagu manage to fight their way through, eventually coming closer to Tama to confront him in the monitor room. However, Wahyu, who was now the only squad member left with a firearm, surprisingly betrayed Dagu, and kills him as soon as he restrained Tama. Soon after, Rama, and Rama's brother, Andi, try to capture Wahyu. Wahyu then confronts Tama, but Tama taunted Wahyu, by revealing that he knew they were going to raid the building, after Reza, Wahyu's corrupt superior, tipped him off, and that Wahyu would be killed, regardless whether or not he escapes.

Wahyu on his part kills Tama out of sheer desperation over his hopeless situation after confronting Tama, and attempts to commit suicide, but soon his attempt failed as his gun had no ammunition left in it. Shortly after, Rama and Andi finally caught Wahyu down in the stairwell, and he was arrested. Wahyu was one of the three survivors of the raid on Tama's apartment block, along with Rama and Bowo.

The Raid 2: Berandal[]

Not long after the events of The Raid: Redemption, Rama brings his critically injured colleague Bowo and Lieutenant Wahyu to meet Lieutenant Bunawar, who is the head of a police division which is dealing with corruption in the Indonesian National Police. Bunawar sends Bowo away to be treated in a hospital for his injuries he sustained during the raid on Tama's apartment block. Bunawar then proceeds to have one of his men kill Wahyu, and Wahyu is shot multiple times in the head leading to his death. Rama protested against Wahyu's death, saying that he wanted to have Wahyu under arrest for his actions. Bunawar explains that he had Wahyu killed under the pretense of keeping Rama safe from corrupt police officials.

Personality[]

He is shown to be a brutal cop who have no qualms in killing who might go against his path as seen killing a kid who worked for Tama as a spotter.

He is revealed to be an ambitious cop who wanted to rise up from his own rank and willingly to do on his own. He made the operation a secret to get the glory by himself even killing his own colleagues as seen when he killied Dagu after arresting Tama. He is also selfish as he doesn't care about his men and wanted to escape on his own.
